ORTHOTICS
THE PRIMARY PROBLEM OVER PRONATION (FLAT FEET)
Approximately 90 percent of individuals pronate (have flat feet). This can result in several mechanical problems such as:
• Plantar fascitis (Pain in arch)
• Shin splints
• Patello-femoral syndrome (Knee tracking problem)
• Low back pain
• Hip pain
• Knee pain
• Bunions
• Metatarsalgia (Nerve inflammation between toes)
• Ankle pain
• And many more…
When the foundation of a house is compromised and begins to sink, it affects the entire structure of the house and must be dealt with quickly in order to prevent further damage. In the same way, when we stand, walk, or run, our feet serve as the foundation of our bodies. If compromised, this weak foundation can create problems not only in the foot itself, but also throughout the entire body. When your arch drops, thereby resulting in flat feet, it can cause or contribute to all or some of the problems mentioned above.
THE SOLUTION The goal is to restore optimal arch height and function. High quality orthotics that are custom-fit to an individual’s arch provide stable alignment of the foot. This in turn can improve the posture of the body, resulting in pain relief and correction of the conditions listed above.
SOLE DESIGN ORTHOTICS The Adelaide Health Clinic is proud to use SOLE design orthotics. The unfortunate but prevalent misconception is that all orthotics are made the same. Unlike many of the orthotic companies in North America, SOLE design is one of the few companies to manufacture a full arch contact orthotic. The full arch contact orthotics are more difficult to make because they must be strong enough to actually change the way a foot works and be comfortable at the same time.

Most custom orthotic companies use wedges to control foot function and keep the arches to a minimum to reduce discomfort. However, the optimal effectiveness of the orthotic to prevent arch collapse is severely compromised due to the lack of a full and dynamic arch support. Unfortunately, these types of orthotics end up being just a very expensive shoe insert.

ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS: OVER-SUPINATION (HIGH ARCHES)
The opposite problem occurs in less than 5% of the population where individuals over supinate (have high arches). Congenitally tight bone structures result in rigid feet. Due to this rigidity, their feet become very poor shock absorbers, resulting in high levels of stress in the foot. Conventional orthotics are unable to resolve this problem since the orthotic never comes into contact with the arch of the foot. SOLE design’s full contact orthotics evenly distribute pressure across the whole foot and are able to provide people with a significant amount of relief.
SOLE DESIGN PRODUCT LINES
ATHLETIC ORTHOTICS When you run or perform other high impact activities, the amount of force that translates through your feet is 3 to 4 times your body weight! Most orthotic companies create an athletic orthotic by putting a foam cushion on top of a very rigid plastic orthotic. This can be very uncomfortable, and in many cases painful for the foot. SOLE design is one of the few orthotic companies to make a dense foam orthotic that is supportive enough to hold your arch up, but at the same time provide enough shock absorption to reduce the impact. This is a must for any athlete.

CABRON FIBER ORTHOTICS Extremely thin and light weight, yet very durable. Ideal for most dress and casual shoes. Another advanced material rarely used by most orthotic companies.

SUBOTHOLENE THERMAL PLASTIC ORTHOTICS
Our standard orthotic which is also ideal for most dress and casual shoes.

All orthotics are custom made with your choice of materials and styles of top covers.

INSURANCE COVER Most extended Health Care Benefit plans cover all or part of your Custom Foot Orthotics.
