"Soup of the Day"...just got serious!
Believing in something… believing in yourself… that’s the stuff of survivors, champions… the people who make it happen… when everyone else said it was impossible. Hope – even unfounded – keeps a fragile spirit alive. Hope when it’s founded? That’s a beast to be reckoned with. A belief that is founded is based on facts: historical or scientific evidence that the future hoped for is not only probable, it’s inevitable.
I believe in You: Who spent months, maybe years, building a foundation of physical strength at the Club. With the help of so many experts you have learned how to overcome mechanical, motivational, and technical challenges. Your muscles remember. Your spirit and mind remember. You will come out of this period of adversity, however long it may be, strong, flexible, and fit. Make the choices you know you need to make. And for goodness sake, lean on us, reach out to us if there is ANYTHING we can do to help.

I believe in the Clubs: We will reopen. As soon as we safely and effectively can, we will dust off the ashes and rise. We have encountered adversity before. We know how to survive. Moreover, we have such a vital role to fulfill: Taking care of you. It’s not something we have ever taken lightly – but now more than ever, we know our mission. Our true calling: to make the world a better, healthier, stronger place, one unique, remarkable, fabulous member at a time.
We will reopen. Don’t stop believing in that. Or in yourself.

Trainer Moves of the Day
Mobility via Traction
This is the closest you get to assisted stretching while practicing social distancing! Cquen Houston-McMillan, Personal Trainer at the Cambridge Club, shares a quick 6-minute video to improve joint health, by using a band anchored in a door frame, which mimics an assisted stretch. This routine can be used for a cool down or just by itself to maintain quality movement and injury prevention.
For questions about today’s Trainer Moves, you can connect directly with Cquen here.
Bite of the Day
Frittata is a comfort food garnished with romantic memories for me: When we were dating, my husband used to whip one up every Sunday morning while I was out for a long run… I made this one myself last weekend, and it was almost as good. I used the wild leeks from our back “yard” which impart a depth, and smoky flavour the larger leeks don’t. I also used a finely grated aged cheddar in lieu of the macadamia nut cheese.

Get this delicious Spring Frittata with Leeks, Asparagus, and Sweet Potato recipe here.
